Bridge Plug Drift
The Oilenco Bridge Plug Drift offers a very simple and secure method of validating both the drift of the tubing and the running of a bridge plug.
The tool replicates the precise outer profile of the intended bridge plug, incorporating all the detailed features such as slips, upsets, sharp edges etc.
The Bridge Plug Drift is deployed via a very simple running tool, retained by a large shearable brass pin.
In the event of the drift becoming stuck in the tubing, upward jarring can be used to free the drift. Eventually the brass pin will shear and the toolstring can be safely recovered to surface.
The Drift features a ‘GS’ type fishing neck for subsequent fishing operations to recover the drift. Once sheared, the tool retains a large through bore. Should further recovery attempts fail or operations be abandoned, oil/gas production can continue. This is particularly important with subsea interventions.
The tool offers a very simple, secure and inexpensive way to verify the running of a bridge plug.
