Tree Cap Removal Tool
The Oilenco Tree Cap Removal Tool provides a safe and efficient means of removing the tree cap prior to wireline operations.
Historically, the removal of the tree caps has on occasion, proved problematic and resulted in the entire flange being removed & replaced. This leads to considerable unplanned downtime.
Key to the operational success of this tool is the design simplicity and safe function of the tool. Each singular part of the equipment is small and light enough to be manually lifted into position.
The system works by providing two means of breaking free the tree cap that can be worked either independently, or combined for greater effectiveness. Initially the flange ring is positioned over the tree cap and locates between the studs of the flange, similar in principle to a large ring spanner. This provided the anchorage point for the hydraulic ram unit. Secondly, the chain clamp assembly is positioned on the tree cap and tightened. Internally mounted, hardened gripper blocks provide a solid anchoring method for the chain clamp. Finally, the slide hammer is mounted to the chain clamp and secured.
