Wireline Rotator Tool
The Wireline Rotator Tool is a slickline tool used to rotate the toolstring below through up and down linear movement. When the toolstring lands on top of an obstruction in the well bore the Rotator makes a small right-hand rotation to the toolstring hanging below. When the toolstring is picked up, the Rotator makes another right-hand rotation. With every subsequent up and down movement of the toolstring, the Rotator continues indefinitely to turn the toolstring below.
Although originally developed to provide indexed rotation to the Oilenco Wire Roller Brush tool, the Rotator can be used for a number of other applications. For example: assisting entry through restricted bores in trees and completion equipment, supporting fishing operations and guiding toolstrings through difficult well geometry.
